Ineffective documentation and communication of programmes and events give room to misinterpretation, misconception and misapplication. Accurate report writing involves clear expression using appropriate language, words, symbols and tenses with precision in constructing a logical argument, note taking, editing or summarizing. Reports are important because they are means of communication with internal and external audiences. They serve as basis for planning, policy articulation/formulation and decision-making in organizations. This workshop is designed to equip participants with necessary skills and knowledge required to effectively transfer meanings, ideas, attitudes, information and instructions from one audience to the other in oral and written forms.

At the end of this Workshop, participants should be able to: 1 Discuss the importance of written communication in day to day business; 2 Identify and avoid common errors in writing reports; 3 Enumerate different types of reports formats and their uses; 4 Produce concise reports and accurate minutes of meetings, and 5 Communicate effectively with External and Internal Audiences.
